My Friend's Little Princess

This is my friend's little baby girl. Her mum and I were room mate when we were in first year undergraduate. She is Yue Jie. Theses pictures were sent by Yue Jie. This little baby girl is Yan Ci You. Yan is the surename, means colour. Ci You is the first name. Ci means kind and You means excellent. Now she is 6 months old. Very cute (want to bite on the cheeks).

The temperature is still around 0 to 2 degree, but spring flowers just can't wait. I wish spring can come earlier this year... I've never experienced spring, wonder how is the weather and the scenery here...

Malaysian Nite

Sorry, no coverage of this event, just a picture of my friends who attend the Malaysian Nite. The night is just a performance of theater entitled - Si Tenggang - modernized famous Malaysian folks tale. The committees of CUMaS really put great effort to make this a success.

Alwan - The Colour of ISLAM

I think this is one of the biggest programme I've participated and help-organized in Cambridge. There are stalls selling CD, hijab, books, artworks and many more, also to make Henna (inai). There are also performance by singers, Brother Dash from US, recitation of Quran, talks, etc. It may not be as perfect as I have expected but, the thing that I enjoy most and precious is the 'FREINDSHIP' or the 'SISTERHOOD' that I've gained throughout this whole process. Thank you my lovely sisters.

Alwan - Preparation
|

The preparation of Alwan start before the Lent Term, but I just want to highlight the preparation work just before the event started at 12 noon. We start the work of making sandwiches the night before. Making 20 loaves of sandwiches with various fillings, basbousa (just a kiss) - Egyptian sweet and fried potato, consume the whole night, from 11pm till 6am. Poor Dina and Tabassum didn't get to sleep while I get to sleep for 2 hours, Arwa 4-5 hours, so do Yasmin. At about 10am, I went to the Law Faculty to help the preparation. Melahat was the first to be there. It's a hard work, but worth it.

Experience Islam Week
|
|
|
Experience Islam Week or EIW is one of the biggest programme organzied by Cambridge University Islam Society, which we always call it ISOC. This programme starts from 11/2 until 18/2. Series of talks and workshop end with cultural event, I just enjoy the programme. Learn a lot and get to know more people. The most important thing is getting more non-Muslims to understand Islam.
